Choosing a New Bible Study Series for Family Bible Circle

On Thursday June 6th we will study the final lesson in the Roman 1-8 Bible study series.  That means we should choose what we will study next.  Because rain is in the forecast and so that we can see what Bible Study resources are available at church, we will meet in the church basement.  If you can't be there on the 6th, but would like to make a suggestion, add a comment to this post.  Please make suggestions for the parenting topics also.

As we have in previous summers, we will meet in Willowood Park when weather permits, otherwise in the church basement.

Here is our Summer Thursday Morning Schedule
(note times are 1/2 hour later than listed in the bulletin and calendar)

9:00-9:30am Confidential Prayer Gathering (open to adult WELS members)
9:30-10:00am Discussion on a Parenting Topic
10:00-11:00am Family Bible Circle (Bible Study)

Come for some or all of the morning.
Please invite others!

Summer Time Devotion and Zumba

Ladies of Pilgrim: Zumba is coming to Pilgrim this summer!
Zumba is an energetic dance workout inspired by Latin and hip-hop music, and it’s coming to Pilgrim, starting in June!  Zumba will be held on various Monday nights in Pilgrim's gym and will be led by Pilgrim member, Katelynn Steinke, who has been trained in dance and is an avid Zumba-attendee herself.  Zumba is a fun way to stay healthy, and the steps are easy and repetitive—no dance experience needed.  Sessions are 45 minutes long to strengthen your body, with a 15 minute Bible study beforehand to strengthen your faith.  Hope to see you there!  Bring a friend!

Second Prodigal God Bible Study

Hello Ladies! Our second study on The Prodigal God is fast approaching. If you haven't done so already, please be sure to read chapters 2 & 3 in your books and look over the sheets for discussion for our April 8th meeting. Even if you missed our first study, please consider joining us this coming Monday. The book The Prodigal God by Timothy Keller can be purchased on your Nook or Kindle. I picked up the book at Barnes and Noble and Family Christian in the past, and they may still have copies available. If you would like the sheets to go with the study just email or call me, jpprekop@gmail.com or 262-781-0338. I'm serving up Chicken Enchiladas for supper at 6:00 p.m. with Bible study to follow at 6:30 p.m. Hope to see you at Val Klika's!

Women's Bible Study Update

The Women's Bible Study group is currently studying The Prodigal God by Timothy Keller. Some of you may remember our guest preacher on March 17, Pastor Becker, mentioning the book in his sermon. We are using a supplement written by Pastor Becker to go with the study. The book shows us a side of the parable "The Prodigal Son" that we don't always see in our reading of this part of scripture. We hope you will consider coming to join us.
Our April study will be on the second Monday of the month, April 8th. Our May and June studies will once again be held on the first Monday of each month. The study is held at Val Klika's with supper at 6:00 p.m. and Bible study at 6:30 p.m.

The Prodigal God

Starting Monday, March 4th we will begin our Bible study on the book, The Prodigal God. This Bible study takes a very familiar parable, The Prodigal Son, and helps us to see a side to it that we may not have seen in the past. I am able to pick up copies of the book for $14.00. If you would like me to purchase a copy for you, please let me know by Weds., as I have them reserved. It would be possible for 2 people to share one book if that makes it easier for you to join us.
Hope to see you at Val Klika's home at 6:00 p.m. for supper and 6:30 p.m. for our study!

Here is our Schedule

9:00am Moms have a half hour discussion on a parenting topic

9:30am Family Bible Circle (check this link to for our current Bible Study topic)

10:30am Moms can continue to chat and kids can play until 11:15 when it's time to leave for pickup at the pre-school across the street

You can come for any part of our Thursday Mornings for Moms and leave whenever you'd like!

You do not need to be a mom to attend. We emphasize the MOMS part because so many moms of small children find it difficult to participate in traditional Bible Classes and church fellowship opportunities. The Bible Class is for everyone who understands that there will be distractions and interruptions because of the babies and toddlers.

Family Bible Circle - Book of Romans study begins 2/21/13

On February 21 we will begin a Bible Study series on the book of Romans.  We meet from 9:30 to 10:30 on Thursday mornings in Pilgrim Lutheran Church’s basement. Coffee and Tea are provided.

Family Bible Circle is an adult Bible study group. We encourage those with babies and small children to bring them along. You can keep your children with you or let them go to our play area in your view.  Family Bible Circle is part of Pilgrim's Thursday Mornings for Moms.

Parenting Group

At the Thursday morning parenting group we discussed an article called "Deal With Your Child's Inappropriate Behavior" at http://m.crosswalk.com/family/parenting/kids/deal-with-your-childs-inappropriate-behavior-506352.html .  We all agreed with the advice, but of course could think of numerous times when we failed to follow it.
