Speakers For Retreat (Nov. 2&3, 2012)

Karen Spiegelberg of "A Word For Women" will be our keynote speaker. She will present

"Women Walking Together With Christ"

Discover the power, through God’s word, to walk confidently as a woman of Christ in his purpose for your life.  Find encouragement in the support of your Christian sisters as you navigate in a busy, hectic, and sometimes confusing world that leaves you wondering what direction you’re going in and why you sometimes feel so alone in your journey.  Bring your passport, but leave your baggage behind as we explore ways to build each other up in our purpose for the Lord!

Jane Schlenvogt-Dew from Westside Christian School will present

"Prayer 101"
“The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.” James 5:17. Great! Now, if I knew what prayer was, who is right with God and when my prayer has been successful, I’d be in business! We will focus on Daniel’s prayer in Daniel 9 for our answers.

"Eat, Drink and Be Mary"
Are you feeling like butter these days: churned up, spread thin and high in fat? Whether you are overworked, under appreciated or have trouble balancing your time, we all can learn from Mary, the mother of Jesus, and others in the Bible, to put God at the top of every to-do list.

Pastor Don Moldstad, chaplain at Bethany Lutheran College, will present

 "Return to Eden...?"

The one institution God has retained from prior to the Fall into Sin is marriage. You can see what a blessing marriage is intended to be by how much the devil, the world and our flesh seek to destroy it. In our fallen world we can never expect paradise, but how can we reclaim many of the blessings God provides for us through this sacred gift?

Cindi Holman, national coordinator of early childhood ministries, will present

"A Time for Everything…Really?: Walking with God in Each Season of Your Life
Ecclesiastes 3:1"

The seasons of our lives are complex, full of highs and lows, expectations and disappointments, challenges and failures. How do we manage it all? How do we as women face the expectations of our friends, family, society and ourselves? Together we turn to the One with all the answers. Together we search the Word for our guidance, our reassurance, our peace in all the seasons of our life. In Him we can learn what it truly means to “have it all”.

We are so blessed to have these wonderful speakers who are willing to share their God given talents and insights!
